Tuckered Out 6x8

Still working on getting a good quality photo. We met this little guy on a trip to the Oregon Coast in July. I feel bad that I cannot remember his name. Getting old stinks. He was so adorable I had to try to paint him. I think the fact that he had his eyes closed helped in the decision too. I don't know if I'm ready to tackle the amazing vividness of a dogs eye yet.

I also would like to thank the wonderful artist Carolyn Finnell, who started the Daily Painter Originals website,  for taking the time from her very busy life to answer some questions from a person just starting to put their toes in the art/blogging pool. Thank you so much for your time and very helpful advice.

  1. I enjoy the perspective of this painting. Catching an animal in a natural state and getting it to cross over on canvas can be tricky, but I see it here.
